In 1852 CE, Sadguru Shree Gopalanand Swamibapa, appointed Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa as the leader of the Swaminarayan Karan Satsang.
Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa preached the glory and supremacy of Lord Swaminarayan and all those who were fortunate to hear His discourses were always engrossed in its’ tranquility. Bhaguji, Lord Swaminarayan’s personal attendent, commented that the bliss in hearing the words of Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa was eactly the same as listening Lord Swaminarayan and Sadguru Shree Gopalanand Swamibapa.
Unfortunately, some of the sadhus could not accept or understand the supremacy of Lord Swaminarayan as explained by Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa. They manipulated others and conspired against Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa. In one such episode these hypocrites persuaded Shree Ayodhyaprasdji Maharaj to evict Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa from Ahmedabad temple. Before Shree Ayodhyaprasdji Maharaj could fulfil their plan Lord Swaminarayan gave him darshan while he slept. During this darshan Lord Swaminarayan explained to Shree Ayodhyaprasdji Maharaj the glory of Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa and how Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa was Lord Swaminarayan’s will manifest and was on the earth to spread the supreme tenets of Lord Swaminarayan and the Karan Satsang. Lord Swaminarayan commanded Shree Ayodhyaprasdji Maharaj to have utmost faith in the words of Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa and not to let anyone insult Him.
Such was the greatness of Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa that Lord Swaminarayan Himself gave darshan to demonstrate Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa’s omnipotence and magnificence. Shree Parmanand Swami, woefully thought of Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa as a mere mortal. Lord Swaminarayan gave darshan to Shree Parmanand Swami and announced that Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa resided with Him in His Akshardham. With this Lord Swaminarayan revealed Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa from His own divine lustrous form. Such was the true greatness of Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa.
Only those who are one with Lord Swaminarayan understand the reality of the Lord. Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa preached the superiority of Lord Swaminarayan and also introduced the haribhakto of the Karan Satsang to Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree.
Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa openly and with immense authority preached that Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree was Lord Swaminarayan Himself.
Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa was the first to use the title Jeevanpran with Bapashree. He said, “You should seek association with Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree. He is without equal. He gives darshan by the divine ordinance of Lord Swaminarayan. He is my life and soul. Just as water means life to the fish, Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree is to me, my life.”
Such is the immense glory of the Acharya of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi, Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa.
